Message: St. Benedict’s College, Randalstown, County Antrim Library Fundraising Initiative 2007 St. Benedict’s College is situated in Randalstown, County Antrim and officially opened on the first of September 2007. My aim as college librarian is to raise the profile of the library in St. Benedict’s College and to bring authors, poets, storytellers and illustrators to the library. Since March 2007 I have been contacting various Irish sports teams, individual sports stars and Irish celebrities from the world of entertainment asking them to donate a signed item to help raise funds for our college library. Everyone who has helped to date has been very generous and taken a lot of time to provide us with worthwhile fundraising items. They have also been very complimentary about the fundraising idea for the library. Due to the wonderful response, we decided not to hold the event in the college but to approach the local media and GAA websites with the story and to obtain some useful coverage of the cause. The idea is to accept telephone and email bids from the public for the items. I can be contacted at the following: Email:- pagnew1@hotmail.com Telephone:- Paula Agnew at St. Benedict’s College 029 94472411 Thank you. Message: I would just like to add to this ongoing argument with the boys and girls about the match the other night. GIRLS, in all fairness we would really not beat the un16s not matter how good we are. The boys were all over us in the first 20 and then they put CAOIMHIM in nets, to give us a chance and then we took full advantage!! Mark helped us out around the middle in the 2nd 20 aswelland we also had 3/4 extra players!! SO boys, i would just like to end now and thank use for the match and ask use not to worry about the result and hopefully we can arrange another game with the 2 full teams in the near future! GIRLS, IF WE REALLY WANT TO KNOW HOW GOOD WE ARE THINK BACK TO THE FIRST 20!!! THANKS
